How quickly does Protec cure?
Polyroof RapidCure technology allows cure times to be adjusted using approved catalysts, accelerators and inhibitors, with times as low as approximately 30 minutes in suitable conditions. The actual cure and overcoating period depends on temperature, formulation and application.
Which substrates can receive Protec?
Protec can be specified over a range of new and existing roof substrates. Every surface must be surveyed, cleaned and prepared, and some substrates require a carrier layer, reinforcement, primer or local repairs before coating.
How does Protec differ from Protec Evolve?
Both are reinforced Polyroof liquid-waterproofing systems using RapidCure technology. Protec Evolve adds an ultra-low-odour formulation and Polyroof’s certified carbon-neutral offsetting programme. The project specification should determine which system is appropriate.
Can Protec achieve BROOF(t4)?
Specific Protec roof build-ups can achieve BROOF(t4). The evidence must correspond to the proposed deck, insulation, carrier, application and finish; the classification should not be attributed to the liquid resin in isolation.
Can Protec be used on a zero-fall roof?
The BBA certificate includes specified zero-fall applications, but good roof design should still promote drainage and provide correctly sized primary and emergency outlets. Structural deflection and long-term standing water should be considered before relying on a zero-fall arrangement.
