Why does Rhenofol CG contain a glass-fleece inlay?
The internal glass fleece provides dimensional stability, making the membrane suitable for loose-laid applications beneath approved ballast, paving or green-roof layers. Protection layers are still required where specified.
Is Rhenofol CG resistant to root penetration?
FDT identifies Rhenofol CG as root and rhizome resistant for suitable green-roof systems and references FLL testing. The complete roof must also include protection, drainage, growing medium and inspection provisions.
Does it replace a separate root barrier?
Within an approved Rhenofol CG green-roof build-up, the waterproofing membrane can also provide the required root-resistance function. Compatibility with vegetation type, joints, penetrations and project warranty conditions must be confirmed.
How is the membrane installed?
Rhenofol CG is normally loose laid and secured by approved ballast or overburden. Adjacent sheets and details are still joined by hot-air welding or another FDT-approved method, and wind resistance must be demonstrated for the complete system.
Is Rhenofol CG compatible with bitumen?
Rhenofol CG is a plasticised PVC membrane and is not directly compatible with bitumen. A suitable separation layer or approved build-up is required where it is installed near bituminous materials.
