What does the polyester reinforcement do?
The polyester grid provides tensile and tear strength required for mechanically fastened exposed-roof applications. Fastener spacing and membrane width must be established by the wind-uplift design and FDT system guidance.
Is Rhenofol CV hail resistant?
FDT publishes hail-resistance performance for the membrane. Actual roof resistance also depends on membrane thickness, substrate, insulation, cover layers and the classified or tested assembly.
Why use a mechanically fastened PVC system?
Mechanical attachment can provide an efficient, lightweight solution where the structural deck offers suitable fastener pull-out resistance. The fixing pattern becomes denser at perimeters and corners and must be calculated for the building and exposure.
Is the installation flame free?
The membrane seams are formed using controlled hot-air welding rather than a roofing torch. This reduces open-flame risk, but electrical hot-air equipment, solvents where used and normal work-at-height controls still require safe procedures.
Can Rhenofol CV be installed over an existing roof?
It may form part of a refurbishment overlay after assessment of the deck, moisture, insulation, fire build-up, fastener resistance and compatibility. A separation or recovery layer may be required over existing materials.
