Which modular buildings can use Elevate EPDM roofing?
RubberGard EPDM can be used on many temporary and permanent modular buildings, including education, healthcare, offices and accommodation. The roof deck, module dimensions, transport method, fire build-up and final site connections must be assessed for each project.
Why is EPDM useful in modular construction?
Large flexible sheets can allow individual modules to be waterproofed in controlled factory conditions. Elevate seaming products can then be used to connect module joints on site, subject to approved detailing and inspection.
How does EPDM accommodate movement?
RubberGard EPDM has high elongation and remains flexible over a wide temperature range. The membrane can accommodate normal building movement, but module interfaces, structural joints and differential movement still require purpose-designed details.
Can the roof be installed in the factory and on site?
Yes. Main module areas may be completed off site, with final seams, perimeter details and interfaces installed after transport and assembly. The sequence should protect the membrane during lifting, transport and site works.
